Live reaction as Chelsea beat Tottenham at Stamford Bridge

Goals in either half from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea a vital 2-0 win over Tottenham as they continue to push for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham had the best chances in the first half but were wasteful in front of goal, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son both missing good opportunities. Chelsea took the lead against the run of play when Chalobah headed home from a corner in the 29th minute.

Tottenham continued to press for an equaliser but were caught on the break in the 75th minute when Jackson broke free and slotted home to make it 2-0. The win sees Chelsea move up to fifth in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with two games in hand.

Tottenham, meanwhile, remain eighth and are now six points behind Chelsea. They have now won just one of their last five Premier League games and their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are all but over.
